![]() ![]() This is sort of a poor mans figlet for PowerShell. I used the Linux utility figlet to create the ASCII art letters and wrapped them in XML along with some metadata. ,Y (L-WCTWEW30V-/,:/P+E7WF W- Y,P/C),Y, ,WT Y) : (P-Y:UW9CX)3- ,W:9/PXXW. Switch up your Ascii art with special characters, that inject an extra dose of uniqueness. This PowerShell ASCII art script module uses an XML file that contains the supported characters, and produces ASCII art letter output to STDOUT or the pipeline. Ideally, there will also be a way to zoom in on the map and scroll around. Y:P ,F ,F,-,/: ,+P Y):) (E YHWLWT)-9/,- ,WF ,P.,P,)-3- ,-, ,WF. The space character is represented by the white block at the beginning. Here is the US-ASCII Character Set, starting with the ASCII character 32 (space/blank) and ending with the ASCII character 126 (tilde: ). If I could get help with drawing just a single image for a map with text that would be great. The standard US-ASCII characters are the first 128 chracters of the character set, where 97 of them are usable for text and ASCII art. I tried copy/pasting the entries into a single entry to get rid of the list entry breaks, but it acts really weirdly with white space so each “line” of characters doesnt line up in a single entry as it does in seperate entries. ![]() Next I tried making the map in the scratch editor by breaking up list entries like so: add to add to add to but it really doesn't look good with the breaks between the entry lists. This has proved to be very difficult for me! First I tried making the map in a word text editor and pasting the string into the list, but that doesnt work because the font scratch uses doesn't have consistent spacing of characters. ![]() Any tips with making ASCII art with lists in scratch? Specifically: -how to make the art (I already know how I want it to look) -good character to use for white space -extra points if you know how to make the map scrollable/zoomable I am working on a text/list based rpg game, and for the game I am wanting to make a world map with text/ASCII art. ![]()
